End of this road and starting of new ones

It had been a year when I first started out Sweet Thots with my friends, and soon it's coming to the end of the road. Well looking back , will keep wondering is it all worth it for the past 1 year ? where would I had been if not here ? Well hmmm maybe I might have landed myself in MBS like most of my peers are OR maybe not ( was only offered a 2nd interview when i accept this batam offer) Well u lose some , u win some , I had to say that i did pick up some stuffs while I am here , useful or not ? only time will tell.

Anyway in less then 1 mths time , I will be back to SG and hunting for jobs to start all over again , which is one part I hate , cos choosing the right job and getting it is so difficult. Just went for an interview and flunk it. I had interviews as I always failed to "sell" myself off. Well will just have to keep trying :)

1) Chung Wah Coffee Shop - Chicken Rice Ball

My Take : We tried Chung Wah and Hoe Kee , IF you believe me , go for Chung Wah , Hoe Kee totally cannot make it , in terms of chicken , it is not as smooth and tender like Chung Wah , also it just take like Singapore chicken rice taste , with the dark colored sauce , the rice also cannot make it cos it is gluey outside but inside is very grainy and the chilli also cannot make it !!! Trust me , go for Chung Wah

2) Jonker 88 - Chendol , Baba Laska

My Take : Best Chendol , Best Laska for me , if you like you can try the nonya assam laska but i prefer the curry one ( Baba Laska) think they top it with sardine flakes , thus the soup is sweet and spicy. somtimes i will have it just w/o the noodles/bee hoon.

My Take : Dim sum .. nothing fantastic, in fact ,,, edible only but the Pau is really juicy , be careful when you take your first bite !

4) Pak Putra - tandoori chicken and Naan

closed , despite the waiter told me they were open the nite b4 i was there.)
* Please do come early for the Tandoori Chicken , I did not get to try b4 i was there like 10pm+ and just saw them served the
last place of Tandoori !!!

My Take : The naan was supered !!! together with the chip pea dips , a must try to me ! ( even though we did naan in school but it was not as soft as theirs !!! You won't regret trying )
**TIPS : For shortcut ( by foot ) , Cut thru Baba House if not you had to turn one big round.

5) Oyster egg Bunga Raya food court

My Take : ( so-so only , Ang Mo Kio Ave 10 , Blk 409 one is better to me if u like those wet wet type)Along jln bunga raya, the first stall in a lane (60-77 medan makanan bunga raya) beside a coffeeshop. The wanton noodle next stall, noodle not bad but soup CMI.

My Take : So-so to me cos i am used to bangawan solo , but dun have chance to try the kueh dar dar , think we are there tooo early. try maybe go after 12 pm

Xiang Ji is located off Jonker Street. It is just a short walk from Jonker Street, and it is opposite SRJK Pay Teck.

10 ) Nonya Bak Chang - East & West Rendezvous (durian cendol and nyonya chang)

My Take : My fav bak chang !!!!! for ppl who like spices , esp i think tumeric !!! Must try !!!

11) La la & 4 treasure - Lane after Madam King’s department store on Jalan Bunga Raya
* Cockles and Shellfish Stall – walk into the dark lane where you’ll be greeted by wooden stalls with long low tables that are dimly lit with even lower benches to sit on. It’s like the outdoor hawker stalls of the 60’s.Ordered lala & this round snail The lady would just blanch them in boiling water & you eat it with this hae koh/belacan/lime/peanut dip. ! The jiu he eng chye was very good too. ( neber try )

But Q is on even time we pass by it , so go ard 4.45pm to wait ! ( who say only Singaporean is KS ! , there are ppl running in front of me that day )

* Lobby air con not on , staffs calls and knock on our door a few times for nothing important , card have to refresh ever day after 12pm. Bed is BAD !!!! too hard for me , Pillow is BAD also , like those cube sponges. Only good review I had is FREE wifi and rain shower :P ( yes i am a sucker for that ) Oh .. it's a bit ulu to walk from jonker street also. ( near Xiang ji Satay )

Baba House [35]. 125-127, Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lok. Fax: +60-6-2811217 ( not too bad , nice bed and quilt to me and got a more " secure " carpark to me , and now that i like the naan so much , Baba house is the gateway for shortcut.

Heeren Inn. Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock, 75200 Melaka. so-so , no lift , no breakfast (who needs it anyway ) rooms bit run down.

My recommendation out of these 3 is Baba House. Book from Agoda , quite good n cheap to me.

Won a meal for 4 @ Nando's FB page and decided to ask Bryan , Lynn and Yijia for the meal , since it's Mr B's B'day so did a cake to surprise him as well ( Also I save on $$$ to give him a treat ! ) So took a morning ferry @ 9.30 am , and reach SG @ 11.30 am and make my way down to Nando's pre opening meal @ Tanglin Mall. My sis was late , and my gal was even late , cos 3 of us went in w/o her first. Well I had actually read it wrongly , I thot was ALL U CAN EAT .. so was quite disappointed , cos we are limited to 1 starter , 1 main and 1 drink each , and for the drinks , they only allow 1 *special drinks/table , it's only $1 different from the normal soft drinks !!! , Well the handed us 2 * $100 GV and a Q&A form. I thot they could at least put it that , Max you can eat is $200 and anything more you need to top up , I think i be happier that way then to restrict this and that.

Well we ordered "Petisco" since all of the staff recommend that and for main we ordered the "Espetada with 2 sides " , "Espetada Rustica" and "Cataplana" and the waitress was like give that look and "oh ok " well dunno is it me think too much , or is like she is like giving us the " so you guys knows how to order the most expensive items" Duhz ... as if we are cheapo like that !!! Well the reasons why we order those are becos we tried in KL and really like it , and "Cataplana" is a new additional to the SG menu ! Kinda of turned off !
Well the food taste nice of cos , as well as the Peri Peri sauces !!! But ... some bad review here :-
1) the chicken was bit cold .. not as warm as expected cos the skewers were "hot"
2) Even the 1/2 chicken my daughter ordered was a bit cold also BUT the meat was soooooo tender .. loving it , even the BREAST !
3) The table a bit too small for us when the 4 main was served , think they change the plating , to give it a more high class look , compared to KL's mid valley one.
4) The staffs did come around and talk to us , which was good , BUT they was a point where I was talking and he was like looking elsewhere , I mean if you dun really like to pay attention ,then dun ask me ! I am just giving you my views ( cos I thot since I eat for free , least i should is to give my honest reviews)
5) The waitress was bit irritating , some of our plate was still with bit of foods AND we were holding on to our fork still , why keep asking if can clear the plates ? ( they at least asked 3 times ) they restaurant was not very full , why so kan cheong to keep plates ? I mean at least look at the customers , if they are holding their utensil , have the thots that we are still eating !!!

Other then those , had to admit , my fav is still Espetada ! And Thanks once again for the wonderful lunch ! Nando's !!! ( But we left still bit hungry LOL )

Been a while , seriously I dunno what to update , Guess like have been pretty kind to me ? ( cos i usually blog when i am sad LOL ) , but had been busy , stressed and tired becos of Project Sweet Thots , More is going to come with more things on hand and trying to be better then the current status. Anyway b4 I start the long long long story of my boring updates, like to share some pics for those who are not on my FB , some of my new ideas/creations ?

2010 - Gonna be a busy year for me I guess , so far , still trying to come out with more "new" stuffs for the shop and hopefully business will pick up faster. CNY this year a bit boring , as per normal for most just that my relatives did not came over this year cos Buffet @ their house instead. Think mum bit lonely becos of that , not really in a bad way though. Oh i did something funny this year , post pre-CNY pic for ppl to take poll for my outfit ( though no ppl really reply LOL ) attached is the few pics

Sweet Thots & Me

Gosh … It really been a long while since I updated this blog , 2 main reasons . 1) Being I did not have Internet excess for about 1 mth (excuses) 2) Been very busy with the new setup of the shop (excuses no.2).

First of all, for all those who been checking this blog of mine out on and off, I will try to update more of my life and work here more frequent (that is if I am not spending all my time on my new PS3!!! ha ha ).

It had been more then a month since the shop is opened, a lot of ups and downs during this period, but now, more or less things had been kind of stable (I think)
Xmas is over ( today 25th le ) So gonna work on CNY and V.day items now , I know it's a bit late but better late then never.

Before I go into work work work , something about my life here first : -
Finally consider settled down , got a room above the shop , quite big but EMPTY. Why empty ? cos I only got the following inside :-
1) 1 TV console and a TV( 32” LCD though :P )
2) 1 PS3 Console with 2 games
3) 1 Sofa Bed
4) 1 Cabinet ( 5 layered drawers ) for my clothes
5) 3 foldable mattresses ( Bryan , Wz and Mavis , one each )
6) 2 cushion ( came with the sofa bed)
7) 3 pillows ( 1 by Wz and 2 by Bryan )
8) 1 body bolster
9) 1 suitcase ( as my table for my Macbook )
10) 1 Magic mop
11) some misc stuffs lying around

Imagine my room is @ least 6m by 5m , 30 sqrm ( abt 1/3 of my HBD size ) but with only these few items ….. So frenz , where is my house-warming gifts !!!!! :P

Still got a problem with the language here , so meals are a bit problem for me. Brunch is usually Chicken Rice or Bread , Then dinner is usually Indo Mee ( my style ) I usually cook with curry chicken , or a lot of different ways of eating.

How I spend my time here ? well usually wake up @ 7.45am then brush my teeth then open the door for my staff to come in , then will do all the daily stuffs , like prepare for orders , for shop sales , etc. then at 9.30 , I will go for my shower and get changed. Then whole day will be in the shop , working , till 8 pm , sometimes I will take a break in between , maybe a nap or something , cos I am working more like split shift here , 12 hrs shift ( where the other staffs only work 9 hrs ).

At nite , usually I be cooking my own dinner , then off to shower and then TV or nowdays start to do a bit of gamming , Just got a PS3 but seems like not enuff time to play ☹ can no longer be like last time le , play games ALL NITE LONG !! Guess age catching up with me. Just always feel not enuff sleep here, dunno why also.

Everything so far so good , except that we really need more exposure to get ourself notice. Sigh , I wanted this to work , will look good in my resume next time ( even though I am really not ready to be a “chef” YET. Anyway daily operation had more or less stable a bit , now just need to work on the “wedding” CHEAP packages , headache , cos really got no experiences in this field.

X’mas over , not very fantastic cos only mange to sell less then 20 logs cakes , I kinda of hope to hit @ least 40 pieces though. My cookies is moving slow also , did not even manage to sell a single whole fruit cake. ( Oh did i mentioned , we opened on X'mas day itself and the walk in was pathetic !!! ( if not for a collection , it could had been worst then a normal weekday !!! )

Some things I really need to figure out , how to minimize wastages, cos the strawberry here really can die , SOOOOOOoooooooo Juicy that it keeps “weeping” and the color change real fast after cutting , thus my cakes can onl;y last 2-3 days MAX.

Things I had oreadi done to help minimun wastage , do small amount for cakes tht cannot keep long , use plastic wrap , sugar syrup the cake …. Dunno what else I can do. Headache also …

For main focus now is to
1) Come up with the wedding packages
2) Cookies and Cakes for CNY
3) Cakes/chocolates for V.day
4) Bring down operational cost
5) Bring in more Revenue
6) Learn how to write ... Sigh writing and pipping always hit me real hard !!!

Think that’s all for now , Sunday today , tomorrow OFF but cannot go back cos need to learn some local cookies from Boss’s relative. Well always good to learn more things ☺ no harm done , maybe will try catch a movie tomorrow ( if got time cos I am thinking of doing some sweet bun for own consumption , bought my own yeast n flour and filling oreadi)

Wish I could live a different live if I could turn back the clock

It's been a while again , just came back from a holiday trip , will update on that once I got all those pics.
Kinda of feel emo nowdays , alot of things in my mind. Just happen to chat with a senior in FB today. She happen to keep in contact with one of the teacher from my secondary school. and i ask her to send my regards. But she manage to contact the teacher and gave me her contact nos. It got me thinking , should i contact her ? cos as u know lar , former teachers of urs will always ask , what you doing now and stuffs. For me i feel inferior , cos at my age , I still did not achieve anything great ? no career no nothing, still living a day to day lives.

Batam project starting soon , I wish to do my best for it but am scare , what if i fail to get it running well ? it's all my fren's $ . I just hope all will turn out well . Every1 thinks I am good but in the actual fact , i dun think i am , it just a front i project to others.

Looking back ... i had really take my life got granted , but what can i do to change now ? how do i go about changing it ? do i still have a 2nd chance like many said ? I really dunno. Suddenly feel so useless .... Y am i always so Emo ? Y am i born this way ? Y i grow up this way ? What had really gone wrong in my life ? I really got no answers to it. But i guess i can only blame myself for what it is today.

Cream Sauce spaghetti

奶油白酱 ( cream sauce )
〖 ingredient 〗
Fresh Cream ----50g
Milk ----300g
Butter （1） ----50g
Butter （2） ----20g
Flour ----50g

〖做法〗
1)warm cream + milk together in a saucepan/small pot and leave aside
2.Melt 50g of butter in another pot。
3.Add flour and cooked till fragrance。
4.Slowly add in the warmed milk+cream。
5.keep stirring , do not burnt
6.Stir until well mix
7.Put in a small container and add in the 20g of butter , to melt it.

〖材料〗
your choice of spaghetti - 200g
Bacon bits
Shaved ham
hot dog/sausages
button mushroom
chopped garlic
Olive oil
Stock - 150g
Cream sauce ( from above) - 80g
Fresh Cream - 60g
Butter - 50g
Parsley
Cheese of your choice
Salt , Pepper , Black Pepper - to taste

Steps.
1.boil hot water , add bit salt then cook the noodle
2.put some olive oil in a pan n warm up then add in the chopped garlic
3. add in the bacon bits ( do not put too much oil cos bacon bits will have oil )
4.Add in Ham/hot dog/sausage fry a bit brown then add mushroom
5.then add in the stock n then follow by the cream sauce n let it small boil. ( can add some pepper to taste)
6.Put in the noodle n cook for ard 1-2 min then add in the fresh cream n parsley and some grated cheese/shredded.
7.Ready to serve.

Back from another Malacca Trip , July-09

Just came back from another 2D1N Malacca trip , this time round , Mum went with us and i get to test my GPS application on my iPhone ( which was really good !!!! ). Anyway this trip was not so tiring , if fact gets a bit bored @ times LOL , We left early , ard 7am from SG , had a light breakfast @ Jb then reached Malacca ard 11am. First thing we ate @ Chung Hwa again , was a bit of Q oreadi when we were there. We had 1 whole chicken this time round ( 3 of us had 1 whole chicken , the table next to us , 4 person only had like 3/4 chicken , LOL ) then we went over to Jonker 88 for Chendol , cos our rooms will only be ready by 1 pm+ , this time round we tried Hereen Inn ( cos Hereen house 's family room was booked) Well .... they place is cheap , but of cos , so you can't expect much , not as comfy as the Baba House of cos. Very basic and poor mum cos there is no lift here. We did not choose Baba house this time becos it's too far in , so we dun wan mum to walk too much , but in the end , worst she had to climb stairs. After checking in , we took a rest and then ard 4pm , we left for Tan Kim Hock , which mum was very happily shopping , total we spent abt close to RM $200 on local product !!! then we left for Capitol Satay Celup , which was lucky we arrived b4 5 pm , by the time we started eating , the Q starts again. Then went to Palawan for a bit of look look C C , then we headed back to hotel b4 hiting the nite market , which we bought some more local products LOL. Mum bought a pair of beaded shoe and we got some snacks+ fruit sherbet which is like slupee ? + dim sum of cos.
Next morning , we went to Jonker 88 again for laska + chendol , tried the nonya asam n the Baba one this time , personally I prefer the Baba laska better. After which we went to buy some pineapple tarts and then head to my Wanton Mee. Back to hotel , took a rest and then Bryan's got craving for another laksa , so both of us went to Jonker 88 again , where he had another round of laksa and i had a Baba Laksa w/o the noodle. After which , i bought another sherbet for the road ( cos the weather is getting a bit hot and then we left for Singapore. That's all for my trip in Malacca , for pics pls refer to my FB

Personally I dun mind the pineapple tarts from LW but find the filling abit little , the Ma Ti Shu from Uncle 5 was not bad , she even give us a candy each ( cos most Ma Ti Shu is hard inside , this one inside still bit chewy/runny , which i liked) of cos , the rest of likes is like the last time , Chicken rice , Chendol , Dim Sum , Celup and this time Sherbet for the hot day!

Been 2 mths since I last updates , alot happen these few mths , mostly work related. Been in and out of job recently. oh guess forget to mention I had my graduation on 24th June, was supposed to be a happy day but then most of my classmate wasn't able to make it so there's only 6 of us ( out of the 10 ) But overall , still happy lar.
During this few mths , I had work in a few places , hotel , restaurants and finally a cake shop. Think i still feel so much happier in cake shop , maybe becos i clicked better with the place there. But all good things must came to an end, My stay at the Japanese cake shop only lasted 1 mth, and the reason I left is becos I defer my ICT without letting my boss "DECIDE" first and they deems as not respecting them and feel "NOT HAPPY" that is the exact quote , he say he is "Not Happy" with me becos i made the decision . Oh this is like sooooooooo @$@#$@#$ , which in the first place he say I dun fit the company's culture. They best thing is , he had ask 2 gals to come for interview on the day he "fired" me. Then after that , one day b4 my last day , they ask if i wanted to stay on , well i very much would like to but i told them i need to reconsider , cos i had a trip planned for the weekends cos i thot i was "fired" and also i think to myself , i need to reconsider about working with a soooo petty boss. Anyway I think they reasons why they ask me to stay is becos they had trial the 2 gals and maybe dun think they fit , BUT then they fired me again becos maybe one of the gal decided to take up the offer , which , they did a 2nd trial on one of the gals after I left n hired her on the spot. So my hunch was correct , it's either one of the gals OR me , they are in fact choosing ppl to that extend !!! ( and the pay n T&C sucks big time ) But i was happy there , becos of my Chef & his wife , my senior , which we click n work very well as a team, BUT i hate the boss n his wife , so bossy and sooo FAKED , esp his smile .... eeeeeeeeeeeeee , so Er Xin. But then they made a perfect match LOL. Anyway it's time to say goodbye , of cos , I was sad to leave cos it means I had to look for job again and get use to new work environment again.
Hope i can find a place where I belong .... truly ....

Malacca 24 hrs makan trip

Decided to go Malacca for a 2D1N trip on Friday, cos maybe going to start work again soon so maybe might not have chance to go again anything soon. It was a very last min decision, we only decided on Thursday. Actually wanted to bring mum along but decided not to first, cos being my first time there, better go and Reece first. Before later Mum complained too much walking again. Went to Popular to buy a Malacca map, which cost me $9.31 (which I think was damn expensive) it doesn't even have much info on the places of interests.
We left Singapore on Friday morning at 9am, went to withdraw some $ and top up petrol before setting off. Traffic was quite smooth cos it was a weekday morning, alone the way we only made 1 stop for toilet break and by ard 12.30 pm we are already in the Malacca heritage area. First we went to have “Chicken Rice Balls” @ Chung Wah (there is a few outlets selling the same thing but friend recommended this. The chicken was nice but I feel the rice not flavorful enough, but I found a way to over come this, first I break the chicken ball into 2, then deep into the gravy of the chicken, then put a piece of meat then put some chili, then all into your mouth: P it taste … Sedap!

Next we went to look for accommodations, Read online for some review, there is 3-4 that we consider, Hereen House, Hereen Inn, BaBa House or Puri Hotel, but we minus Puri cos read online price listed is b4 taxes also the outlook is sooo different from the online picture. Parking was one of our concern, so when online we read BaBa House got own parking behind so we stayed there instead, price was quite ok, 138 RM for a superior king sized bedroom with windows (the most exp room there) with breakfast provided. Room was ok and everything was fine (except we kinda of regret later, cos it is very far in the street, so every time if we go out n wans to go back to the hotel, we had to walk more compare if we had taking the nearer Hereen house/Inn.

Once check in, we had a quick shower and had a walk ard the daytime Jonker Walk, nothing much excited us cos not really in a shopping mood, ESP all those things for tourists. Saw a lot of shops selling pineapple tarts which all put “ 現做現賣” kinda of wonder how many are true BUT they all put a over in front, ha ha so u had to believe bah: P We had Chendol @ Kedai Antik 88 (Chendol 88) @ Jonker Street, someone online recommended this as the best, so we ate there, which was really good, no complaint ☺. After that we went to the cornet of Jonker street and went into the “三叔公” and have a look cos someone online put it's the same as the “Tan Kim Hock” which. IT”S DIFFERENT !!! So I did not buy anything there cos 三叔公’s products, can be found in JB or even GIANT. So we decided to go back hotel for a shower n had a bit of rest b4 going for dinner @ the famous Satay Celup. Took a short nap cos my fren was quite tired after the drive, woke up @ 4 pm and went out cos fren was here recently and said last time by the time they reach the dinner place @ 5.30, it was oreadi FULL and had to wait for about 1 hr b4 getting a table. I read online someone said they only open @ 5.30 pm though. Anyway we decided to walk there as it was less then 30min walk from our hotel, we reach there abt 4.30 and it was still closed, so we decided to detour to the Tan Kim Hock Product Centre which was abt 10 min walks away. It was really like how I saw online the products there is A LOT !!!!!!!! until I dun even know what to buy …. Coming here to take a look/picture is oreadi enuff LOL; anyway we bought quite a bit of stuffs. Oh btw, the boss really wears his signature white suit like someone posted online, so cute !!!

Left for dinner after that, we reach the place ard 5.15 and it was almost full, this is actually not my first time having this cos a fren bought home-style version back to SG for us to try b4 but eating there is really different, it was so much better ☺, Ok let me explain what Satay Celup is, it is like steamboat but using satay as base. Food is sold in skewers or small plates, Skewer cost 70cent RM and plate not sure but the blur plates are more expensive. Must get use to the staffs will come n stir the base to prevent sticking to the base of the pot I guess. Anyway some of the things I like there, is the chicken skewer (cos I like breast meat) then the beancurd skin thing, tau pok, and there is this meatball with a lot of mince meat once u bite inside, a bit like meatball version of “Fu Chow Fishball” BUT be careful the “juice” inside is hot when bite. This is confirm a must try place for first comer. Next we went back to the hotel cos bought too much things from TKH.

Took another shower, then laze abit, was debating should we go to the shopping malls, in the end, we decided to go to the night market @ jonker walk (read online and it state only on fri/sat nite) and then walk to the new shopping mall – Dataran Pahlawan Mega Mall, it is also within walking distance from the hotel, abt 20 min bah, we decided to take the smaller route cos shorter, and we pass by an old train n an airplane display. Went to the factory outlet n my fren bought some shirt , went FOS but nothing much , walk a bit in the mall b4 heading back to the night market @ Jonker Walk ( cos we are not really shopping ppl) by the time we reach Jonker Walk , it got crowded and we had to squeeze thru , by this time we also got bit hungry , read online must eat the “dim sum” which cost 3 piece for 1.50 rm and 7 piece for 3rm ( must buy more , cos we only start to eat in the hotel by the time we finished , we wished we buy more but yet lazy to go out again) In the end , decided to just stay in the hotel room and watch TV , lucky there was a hongkong movie ( in Cantonese though ), Dun except alot of prawns like dim sum in SG for that price though BUT we like the taste of it :)

Wake up at 8.30 am for breakfast at the hotel , there was a choice of western ( 2 toasts with some scramble egg and a sausage ) or eastern ( fried rice with sausage ) , Did not really manage to fill me , but then why waste when FREE rite ? , anyway after that I decided to try one of the Wanton mee stall cos read online say it a bit different here cos got no black sauce one. Then we decided to do some last min shopping of local products ( really a lot here to buy ) and hee hee back for another round of chendol @ 88 n this time round we decided to try the Baba laska (most ppl recommanded the Nonya Assam Laska though) , which was hmmmm NICE too , they actually added sardin flakes in oil in a spoon for you to mix into the gravy , taste good , esp the fried stuff , we order a 2nd round of the tau pok n beancurd skin , next time will try more here. Bought some coconut sugar n syrup from this shop also. A chef told us b4 , good coconut sugar must be slight brown in color and must be a bit soft n not too hard.

After that we went back hotel for a shower and left there for home , we left abt 12 pm and by 4 pm we are back home in sg oreadi.

P/s: did not manage to try any Peranakan/ Portuguese food this time round, maybe next time if I am there longer.

Some personal tips: -
Best to go on weekdays, not so crowded
If interested in going to all those places of interests, advise to go @ least 3D2N cos this trip is just for FOODs !!!
Best to @ least 2D1N cos can have hotel to rest/shower cos ppl tends to sweat there as the streets are not covered.
If possible, can just stay ard the Jonker Walk area, to me most of the things are within walking distances, cos if drive, you might have to go one big round as some of the roads are one-way only.

Long updates ~

It had been a while since i blogged , this few mths had been up n down like a roller coaster ride. First of all , yes , I got a job but part time only @ a hotel , which i had always wanted , BUT only to realized that it is not where I would wan to be , not becos of hard work but becos of what is to be done there. I gave up a full time job offer to go in that place as a part timer , though not what i really thot it would be but @ least i get to seen tried n know that is not where i wanted to be. Think i know what i really want for now, I really wants to do beautiful cakes and desserts , using the best ingredients and had the best presentation. Of cos , I am not @ that level yet and i am still trying very hard to learn from the best if given a chance. Maybe I wish that i dunno what i really one like some of my peers, think that would be easier and not so choosy.
My hand is giving me problems this few days , it can get so bad that until I can't even lift chopsticks for long. Think my current workplace gonna kill me , work 2 weeks and I am off for 1 weeks, anyway decided to go back to work ... FORCED myself to , till i find another job , think I had to reply on painkiller for my hand till I see a specialist in end of June.
Back to things at the hotel , 1) cos they served buffets , so hmmm things is just looks ok will do no need to look super nice , and their desserts dun really have the I see liao will "WOW" feeling. I always thot hotels might have the "WOW" factors that I am looking for but too bad ... so am kind of disappointed. But think on the brighter side , I do get to see different things , like ice-cream machine , and stuffs. But I dun think i will stay there for long cos 1) it's just part time and also the working place dun really suit me , i needed to be somewhere more jolly and not just rushing for nothing ...
Had another fren's gathering recently , desserts I made was way below standard ... quite disappointed with myself LOL ... ppl been saying ... i been doing worst then last time, dun have the "Wow" factor anymore. Must buck up !! anyway plan to get a ice-cream maker for myself , so good news to my fren ..... I might provide fresh ice-cream cake /desserts for you ppl next time .... :) next will aim to get an "espuma". Pray to whoever .... whatever .... I hope to had a chance to learn n specialize in desserts/plated .... but i dunno where i can pick up .... dun think i can do it on my own .... so if any1 got any good chef willing to take me in , let me know .... I dun mind working for free if there's things to learn !!!
Will try n start to take pics of my creation and maybe post the recipe online from now on .... always forget to do that ... feel so bad..... ..... but ... recipe .... should I or should I not share ? I been very open always but seems to me many ppl still keep their recipe like dunno what like that .... makes me wonder .... what should I do ?

P/s : hope my hand can get better , if not , I might have to even give up my dreams on baking ... ( now on 3 mths medication )

Moving on ~ ( for N times )

Went for a run ..... ha ha , been wanting to do so but sooooo lazy , wonder how long more b4 my next run ... *crossed finger* that i try n do it often. Been telling myself i need to move on for the N times , hope i can really do it this time :)

Anyway , have this bright idea of mine , To all my frenz reading this blog , did not get any requests for cakes/desserts since my last post on my work in 2008, here I am giving you all another chance , ha ha , post in the comment to let me know if there is any cakes/desserts , in any flavours that you like (of cos must be practical lar), Then i will try it out and create it specially for you , YES you only :) but of cos u need to give me time to try n explore, of cos if u ever gets to eat it , means I am sucessful , if not ... then keep waiting ok :) ( ok ok maybe it's just some excuess to make you ppl comment here , BUT i will try my very best ok to get the ingredients and explore in the new creations. ) So keep your requests coming in so that i can bring myself to the next level , be it I am ready or not. hugzzzzz

WSQ Graduation @ Vivo

Me + my Daughter

Went to meet my daughter and Esther @ Vivo's Marche for lunch , as per normal ..... Marche is still as EXPENSIVE , spent abt $40 on a meal .. and didn't finished all also ... waste of $$$$ , Banned myself from going there anymore ... It just not worth it !!!!. Went Daiso , bought a skin peeler for doing orange strips. Then we to a toy shop and saw a gloomy bear 's coin bank .... soooooooooooo cute ... i been looking for this for a long time and the shop i always bought from dun carry this model. Asked one of the sales person about the price and she said there is a 20% off ... so i am very tempted. But i just spend freaking $40 on a meal that is not worth it ... :( but luckily found a sponsor to help me in this "adoption" program :P , so thot will come and buy after the whole grad event.

Went to the rehearsal and was quite bored and feels very funny at first cos we have to walk up a stage and wave then had to do a dance to High School Musical's music , but ha ha actually was enjoying it when the real event started , cos to see so many of us graduates having fun n catching up and we get to wear and throw out "tall hat" , BUT of cos I am more looking forward to the one in June where it really belongs to us :).

After the event went to buy the bear , I ask for the box , at first she said dun have but then she say have .... then ok very happy to have it with the box. Upon making my payment , she told me $39.90 , then i was like look @ her ...
Me : "didn't you say there was a % in the afternoon when i was here ? "
She :" oh, you where here earlier ? "
Me : "Yes, and you told me there was a discount."
She took up the calculator and press the amount and said " ok , 20% "
I was like .... lucky i ask in the afternoon ... if not i might have to end up paying full price for it.
