FHA Dinner @ at-Sunrice by Classic Fine Foods & Rougié

Yesterday was a busy day ... Went to FHA2008 again in the morning to get some stuffs then had to rush back to skool b4 2 pm as there is going to be an event which was to start from 7pm to 11pm. We were all very busy setting up the desserts for the nite , and we only managed to complete all ard 6pm+ thus all just had a very rush dinner of Fried Rice ( only 15 min to eat n go toilet ). B4 7pm we were all @ our station waiting for the guests. On forget to mentioned , I was post to the Churros Station with my Daughter - 0 dan. And Yj and GGG was on the other end , serving the same thing. Was surprised that alot of guest does not know what is a Churros ..... Luckily Chef Jimmy "REFRESHED" my memory b4 the event on the origin of it. Our stn was quite busy , "business" was super good ... All my churros was almost snapped once we display it and my Chef thot we did not do enuff LOL and Chef Fred actually say will award me Dip in churros LOL .... It was quite fun toking to the guests and also intro Churros to them ... I would always go like .. " Evening Sir/Mdm , any Churros for you ? and if they ask " What's that" , I will replied " This is Churros. Sir/Mdm , It is actually Choux Pastry , like Cream Puffs , just that this is DEEP FRIED and not baked." Then is will also tell them " There is also Chocolate sauce and Raspberry sauce here" and if they ask " So which is better ? " I will replied " Try one plain ( just with the lime sugar tossed ) , one with chocolate sauce and the last with raspberry, that's why we served 3 in a plate." Standard questions and answers the whole nite :P Also there were alot of guests who came took a look and said they will come back later ( cos they haben had enuff of savoury items ) BUT they always come back for our Churros and back for MORE .. LOL ... And i very the "JIAN" cos some students and staffs who came by and ask to try i would always tell them ... pls only come to my station COS the other station very the "CAT" , their Churros very short ... mine better .... LONGERRRRRRR ... BETTERRRRRR LOL ha ha ha ..... SUPER " JIAN" .... But was very tiring ... staying there whole nite ... piping and frying .... and worst kena scolded by Chef Dean for drinking @ my station ... of cos i know it's wrong to drink in front of guest BUT there is no one to relieve me .... the other counter got 4 pax ... my side most of the time only 2 of us ... how to go other place hide n drink ... Duhz !!!

But was quite happy cos alot of the guest really like the Churros cos they keep coming back for MORE !!! and also there is this chef Paul Lenz of shangri la Singapore came to joke with us and also gave me his name card and saying that we should go work for him( when he asked us where we worked) LOL ( cos he say he like the way we enjoy while work cos we were like smiling all the way ) Well this might means nothing or maybe he's a bit drunk or just being friendly but to me ... a chef of his status , toking n joking with us .... i think this is more then enough for us ... We are just Trainees aka Cheap Labours ( or rather FREE labours for the nite ) That is one of the many things that make me enjoy the nite ( of cos making desserts , tasting them and all ... It was a good experience ..... though every1 was Busy , Tired .. but working as a TEAM was GREAT !!! liked that feeling .... It also help me to tok to more ppl from the other class ( becos of under-the-table butler trade. LOL .... Hope this Sat event @ Sentosa will be great as well and no hiccups !!! *Finger Crossed*

The Forbidden Kingdom

Just back from watching this show .... think was quite disappointing , even though b4 watching , oreadi read some reviews about the movie ( negative ones ) It's actually quite crappy @ some parts but would have to say the background music was nice ( sound like LOTR ) ... The movie itself remind me on LOTR also , Like the scene which Jet Li wore a white cape and rode a white horse , looks like Gandolf the White in Part 3 of LOTR. Then they mentioned in the movie ... Middle Kingdom ( like LOTR middle earth ) the part about the staff ... like the one ring in LOTR also ... also the evil wans to throw it into some fire/lava to melt it ... like LOTR also ... and of the THE Traveller Vs The Bearer in LOTR .... very Ang Moh style with Cheena story background ... think the only good part id Jet Li and Jackie Chan s' fighting scene. Oh forget to mention ... the White Haired Bride ... not fierce and evil enuff ... and the hair ... like bad hair day .... always blown and cover the face ..... doesn't look Stylo Milo @ all.

As the topic stated ..... presenting part of Pierre Herme's Desserts @ Mezza9. Actually was trying our luck cos the reservation was full that nite and our only chance was the Martini Bar cos it's first come first serve basis. After my Jap paper , me and Yj took a bus and make our way to The Hyatt Hotel. When we reached there , we actually saw Chef Megel and Chef Pierre Herme outside the Bar. Made our way in and waited for 10 mins before we were approached by a staff and we waited for another 15 mins for a table , for us ... it was OK as long as get get to try our the desserts. Before we were there , we were already awared that there is 2 different dessert menu , one in the bar , the other is in Mezza9 itself.

We ordered 5 out of the 6 dessert offered in the Bar ( the last one too exp and not a fan of carviar ) We also ordered 3 martinis ( which was a waste of $ cos we were just there for the desserts !!! ) anyway we was in the bar till about close to 10pm then decided to try our luck @ the restrauant cos Yj wanted to try the Dessert Ispahan, so I ask one of the staff if she is able to help us a table or put us on waiting list cos we really wanted to try the other menu. Waited till about 10.20pm and decided maybe we should make a move cos outside last order is @ 10.30 pm .... just as we were going to ask for bill , the helpful gal service staff told us she managed to get us a table in the resturant. So we move over and try 3 other more desserts from the menu.Out of the 8 desserts we tried , Luv 5 , like 1 and dun like 1 .... BEST was Ispahan ( die die must try )and LEAST was the Tarte Mogador ( cos the pineapple was bitter ... think too much liquor ) ....

It was a good experiene , some ppl might say ... pay so much just for desserts ... most prob paying for the name ( PH ) only .... but it was really good esp the sorbet ....neber has I ever try something soooo smooth ... of cos Ispahan was my fav of all ( even when Mr PH was in my skool and showcase his items ( picture only ) I had really wanted to try it cos Lychee + Rose + Raspberry ... all my fav !!!! NO REGRETS !!!! ...Last but not least ..... our bill for that night .... $286.00 :P

When to watch The Soldier & His Virtuous Wife <<都是当兵惹的祸>> today. Was quite blur cos i actually booked the tickets for 10th April , lucky they allowed us to change the tickets. It was very funny and the song are quite catchy and best of all they still got lucky draw wor.... Anyway truly enjoy the plays by The Theatre Practice ( previously watch their " If There’re Seasons… " 《天冷就回来》. Anyway these are some pic of the play and pics of my taking with the actors after the play.

What a day ... ... ...

Today supposed to be a very good day cos we had a guest speaker - Mr Pierre Herme for Home Coming. But sigh turns out it just happen to be one of my EMO day. Firstly , usually if we performed well in our exams, though just a piece of useless printed paper but to me ... since i got that for Term 1 ,,,, I was thinking why not just do my best try to collect all 5 ( cos total i only got 5 terms) BUT .. though i managed to get A+ for all my subjects , I did not get that 2pid paper :( and worst my daughter is getting better and catching up ... of cos i jealous but i happy for her , cos this shows that she will not be depress and say wans to quit skool anymore :P But I am still sad and angry for myself , cos I like to collect things in SETs ,,,, now this cannot be complete liao. Sigh.

Secondly is that , I wanted to ask Mr PH some questions regarding his books BUT did not get the chance :( Reasons ? ... First question was ask by my classmate ... so LL cos she more high profile ... 2nd .. before i could raised my hands , there is this 2pid guy , who is not even student of the skool , think is some staffs from some partners ... somemore ask in FRENCH wor .... chey ... take up my chances , thick skinned , then ask Mr PH about seafood with chocolate ... oh pls why dun you try yourself ? y ask Mr PH ? and what ? seafood in garnache ??? oh pls .... 2pid !!! And the last one ? was given to my classmates again just bcos LADIES first ? WATEVER !!!! pissed me off ..... I been waiting for the chance for the whole weeks !!! and dig out my info also just in case i ask wrongly !!! and there it was busted !!!! SAD

To make myself feels better , I decided to go Pine Gardens @ AMK to try their cakes cos been hearing about them but no chance , the pics on top are 4 cakes I bought ... but a bit disappointed though. 1) Black Forest - Nothing special, quite a lot of cherries BUT all flatten one, chocolate taste normal, not much kirsch (if there is any), 2) Orange Zest Chocolate - The orange layer zest smell nice when eat separate but if you eat together with the chocolate layer, it will cover the taste of the orange zest, 3) Lychee Martini - supposed to be good cos was listed as one of Top Singapore 50 Cakes by ST last sunday. but to me ... just normal, nice to have the puree in the layers and can taste of the martini but maybe becos it just a neighborhood cake shop, things use in the cake is very normal , nothing very special and if your expectation is higher, otherwise not too bad, 4)Strawberry Mousses - nice try , top jelly , center sponge and cream. 3 different texture BUT , they dun even glaze their strawberry ... very disappointed also the jelly would be better if stronger in flavour or maybe there should be some lemon or something to bring out the flat taste of just strawberry. I might not visit there again cos to me , it;s not too bad but ok ok only for a neighborhood cake shop. But saw their new menu ... they had a Bird nest cake ... and think with apple mousses or something ... that kinda of interest me :P till then .... Sigh not feeling much better cos those some sweet and nice cake might makes me feel better ... BUT yet again disappointed by MEDIA !!!

Went makan with 0-dan and Yj after Jap class. @ first they were saying that to only got for dessert buffet after out jap exam so was planing to go Dim Sum @ Geylang. But 2pif YJ says she got craving for sweets things so we went ahead with Dessert Buffet @ Marina Mandarin.

Most of you must be wondering .... dessert buffet .... Y got a bandage leg ? This is the "GREAT WORK" of the 2 gals ..... cos 0-dan was wearing a limited edition flip flop !!!! so we scare there might be a dresscode for the lounge ... thus .. they thot of using bandages for the leg so we will have excuses as to why she was not in proper dresscode .... So funny ... and they actually thot and speak of it @ the same time .... they so "K"elever wor !!!

Firstly what greet us was the friendly staffs of the lounge and we were given seats at the other end of the buffet counter as the other side was full, the seat was quite BIG and comfy and it was next to some water feature. Next what greet us was the Tea/Coffee that comes with the buffet ( $1 per subsequent refill - i think ) . The sugar was soooooooooooo cute ... well maybe is Sua-gu ( mountain tortoise ) neber see b4 ... but it was soooo cute that we can't resist just licking and sucking it.

Triple melon something ?

First of all, was quite disappointed with the Crêpe Suzette cos from what we learnt was caramelized sugar then add butter and orange juice + lightly grated orange peel and the crepe will be put in and then the liqueur is added in and flambe then serve. But what they did was , 1) butter in then sugar in to caramelized then THROW in all the FRUITS !!!! strawberry + blue berries and stuff in to cook in the caramelized sugar ... so salah !!! and then they flambe it and after that then add in the crepe ... thus the crepe got no taste of the caramelized sugar smell and taste also there isn;t any flambe taste ... disappointed cos @ first we thot was like ... wow on the spot made crepe suzette. But the next thing i tried was good ... think was some melon thingy ... with cream cheese and the savarin was salty .... i like :P

Next I try on the cheese petti four , @ first we were thinking that what is the green thing with the cheese, and we conculde that "green" thing in Pastry usually is "Green Tea" or "Pistachio" after trying and trying ... we decided that it might could have been green tea cos of the after-taste ( also pistachio usually got a stronger taste. The kaya toast was not bad to me ... cos it was with 2 layers of Finger sponge and in between is kaya + butter , quite unique for a cake.

Lychee macaroon+ dessert wine jelly with nata de coco

First of all the lychee macaroon is not too sweet , which i always hate macaroons as it will usually be too sweet for my tooth , BUT I can't taste of any lychee flavour and also they had a Apple Tea + Chocolate Macaroon which the apple tea's taste is totally covered by the chocolate.And the layers of things is actually quite nice BUT pls improve on the cutting ... mine look like Eiffel Tower + The Leaning Tower of Pisa !!!! it was big on the bottom and narrow on top and was like slanting to one side ( no excuses and tell me that is the design cos some of it was properly cut! but i have to give credit cos on the bottom layer there was a super thin layer of chocolate as base , and the whole thing was very soft , it must be very hard to transfer and display , and i like the red layer , can't remember was it raspberry or strawberry.Oh .... pls give credit to the dessert wine jelly .... it was the nicest I had that nice i think , also there was some parlines ,,,, one with dessicated coconut inside , that taste like pandan ? liked the one with a red toping on the white shell ( but i only like the red powder) , then there was one i think with nuts n raisins.

The chocolate was not too bad and the golden ball is chocolate too , not some cheapo candy. The Crème brûléewas a bit disappointment also ... too thick and stiff ... think tooo much egg yolks or toooo less water/milk when using some ready-2-use Crème_brûlée mix.

Ok this had to be the worst of the worst from the whole dessert buffet ..... The Strawberry Souffle and the Chocolate Souffle , The strawberry one was under cooked , you can see it's watery below and it doesn't raised , in fact it sinked ! The chocolate one was over-cooked , it was very the stiff. Think they used steamer instead of oven so maybe that's why the taste is so bad, pls note you will have to waited about 20 mins for this , cos it's only steam when ordered. The other pic is the view i had from my seat , quite a nice place to hang out.

Some other things i tried , actually there were more stuffs but did not managed to take pic of all.In term of desserts-wise ... So-so ... but nice display of the petti fours but taste was can be improved also they seems to cut cost , use a lot of egg white foam instead of cream or custard , or maybe it is the recipes, But too much of the same things ... can get a bit *puke* also some of the stuffs must cut down on the sugar .. Esp there is this Sabayon something, The donuts can give a miss too. But nice place to hang out , services were good till certain timing ... we left @ about 2am ,,, and we were waving and waving but none of the 5-6 staffs saw us and we had to walk over to ask for bills. Staffs is not very sure of the current promo when we were paying up ( where the staff who attended to us did told us some promo)

FYI .... Citibank credit card holders , you only pay 2 pax for 3 pax to enjoy, so quite good deal , instead of $28++ ( think is about $33) , we paid about $22 each.> Nice place to hang out , chill and think we will still go there and try other desserts the next time round, of cos hope to see some improvement in some of the desserts. P/s : it will be good if they could off each a plate of what was in this picture.

Term Break

Finally time break is over again ... didn't managed to go Taiwan and P.Ubin but had some quite fun time @ clark quay on monday nite. Me + YJ + Lynn went to visit JS @ his work place and after that we went drinking by singapore river. We "Ton" the whole nite and think we were all HIGH , had alot of crap tok , fun , and best of all ... Alot was caught on Video and posted on FB !!!! LOL lighting was not too good but we sure am a bunch of clowns :) more to come as YJ just suggested and "Ton" session b4 school open ... hopefully it be as fun :) till then .... to all concern about me !!1 I m fine still !!!! just too emo @ times still LOL

Changes for 2008 ?

Quite a nos. of not too happy things happen this week .... sigh and been thinking ... should i stick to the old me ? or should i change ? ...... Used to be very emotional and manage to change a bit BUT i think is coming back to me .... sigh ... why i can't just be like some ppl ... just lauffs and forget ( Or CBB - Can't Be Bother , BH - Bo Hiew ) ? Maybe that why I am who I am .... but this is going to affect me more n more ( from past experience ) So maybe i should change ??? I really dunno .... Can someone pls give me some advice ? ( ha ha that only means it must be someone who dunno me well COS ppl who knows me will knwo I NEBER LISTEN)

Managed to complete most of my home assigments which some of my classmates haben even started ! For one ... I am going to STOP asking and Nagging @ them ... cos no point .... if they dun wan to help themself ... what can i do ? I believed i did alot ....like arranging meet up , pushing them to do and even offering to accompany them to do .... sigh .... Sorry Pals ... think that the max i can handle ,,,, having big probs with my Jap class too .... hope i can pass both Baking n Japanese.

Term break coming soon ( means exam is here soon too ... argh !!!!) Taiwan trip is cancel .... cos 2pid B**** changing job ... cannot take leave ..... so i guess if the DIPB GO4 is keen ... we shall do P.Ubin again .... at least something i can look forward to ( cross Finger).

Dunno true or joking, My chef talks about quiting ... hopefully just a joke :) cos i still got tons to learn from her. ... Oh btw ... won $10 from Toto ... Virgin win !!! YEAH !!! means more to come .... 4D....Toto....Big Sweep !!! HUAT( 發） ar !!!!

SCA AGM Lo Hei Dinner

Attended the Singapore Chef Association Lo Hei Dinner on 17th February @ Swissotel Merchant Court. First time at this event and turns out to be quite worth it and fun for me and my fellow classmates :).

Went to work @ 8am as my chef @ work is still on MC and there was alot of orders to be done. Was a busy day for all of us but luckily we are ale to end early @ 4pm. After work , me and some of my classmates went to TTSH to visit Chef Jimmy. After that we head to Swisstoel Merchant Court for the dinner.
There was alot of people, total of 42 tables but seems most are from the Singapore Junior Chef Club ( SJCC) which we are in also. Lucky for us , we were allocated to a table to ourselves. It was a 9 course dinner with things like "Yu Sheng" , Braised Shark fin Soup, Roast Chicken with Rice cracker, Steamed Garoupa , Steamed Prawns , Dry oyster with Broccoli , Abalone with Mushroom, Fried Glutinous Rice , Lemon Sea Coconut with Sago and Pomelo .....+ free flow of drinks .... not bad for $10.

During the dinner , which was host by Chef Eric Teo himself , was quite fun , we truly enjoyed ourself , esp the part where the whole group of us went to look for Chef Megel, Chef Frederic ( 2 times ) , Chef Andreas. Chef Eric also came over to our table and "Yum Seng" with us.

Blessed all with a Happy Chinese New Year !!!!

Class Outing AGAIN !!!

First of all this happen yesterday but was toooooooo tired after all the Sun , Sea and BALLS !!!!
We had our 2nd field trip yesterday and this time round we went to an egg process factory in Jurong. Basically they sell shell eggs , hard-boiled eggs and pasteurized liquid eggs. They guy there really good in his job cos he reallys knows alot of things and always able to give us an answer we asked. After that we went to Paragon to LLCC then took a bus to The Cathay for lunch @ NiHon Mura. First time we ever had the whole class together with Chef Jimmy ( too bad Chef Frederic did not join us) After Lunch we went back skool to collect our WDA cheque !!!! Finally we got our additional $400 on top of our basic $500. Yipppeeeeee !!!!!

After that 8 of us went to Sentosa for Beach Volley ball, ( Karen + Me + Deric aka Gan Ge Ge + Lynn + JitShing + Yijia + Arjun + Esther ( In order of AGE !!!! ) ) I can say ALL of us trully enjoyed the day. Funny thing is that Karen actually broke the pin and the ball was slightly deflated , we was like searching ard for someone to loan a pump , lucky we managed to find if not it will be a wasted trip. Js was good in the "balls" game , Deric was super ONz , Arjun was good too , Yijia is SCARED of the ball , Lynn is STONING , Karen was not bad , Me was super lously ( trying out different patterns and cannot control the direction & force of the ball ) , Esther was .... hmmmm..... trying very hard LOL . Some of us went for a short swim in between the game, surprisingly Sentosa's water @ the Siloso beach was quite all rite for a singapore sea water. We had piggy back fighting for the BOIs, Me + JS Vs Deric + Arjun. Of cos me + Js was the winner cos me being the more STABLE ( = FAT lar ) horse. Arjun + Deric was super funny ... esp when Arjun ride on Deric and keeps asking Deric to hurry up and stand up. The always had problem stabling ....and to see wether "The Rider" ( aka Arjun ) or "The Horse" ( aka Deric ) is the "lao su shi" we get Js to ride on Deric and we CONFIRMED , the probelms lies in "The Horse" aka Deric .... LOL ....

After the swim, we went back for more volley ball game and this time think all of us played better and we took a few funny photo there ( will post once i got from them ) then we head for shower and took to tram back to Vivo where the rest of them had their DinDin there and i left to meet Mini & Gangs cos Chong just came back from Oz. We had DinDin @ "No Sign Board" @ Geylang, the white pepper/salt crab was not bad but the chilli one a bit cannot made it. They left for Durians after that but i head for home cos was really tired.

To my classmates of DIPB03 of at-Sunrice ...... It was a wonderful day out , let's do this again !!!! Let's enjoy + work hard together and enjoyed the time we have as students now !!! Hugz !!!

Bad Day !!!!!

Started the new year ... been kinda of busy with work , studee and fun of cos. Nothing much to complaints nowdays so seldom blog anymore ... I guess just tired , ( guess if anyone reading also will feel tired from reading ha ha .) Anyway started my japanese course .... very blur cos i guess my foundation was not built very solid ... thus am struggling now , but lucky got 1+1 studying with me, @ least someone to turn to if I need help. School been ok but VERY angry this week, suppose to go back for Home Coming ( something that happen once a month, where students are advise to go back to skool from 3pm - 5pm). told my chef b4 that the home coming is on but she said that not enuff ppl , cannot release ( and i work till about 9pm that day !!) When i go back skool the Stud. Aff. asked me why i neber report for that , told her that I was working and chef dun release BUT shr said that she called my Boss - Miss D. and Miss D said " Cedric said he doesn't wans to go back" ...I was like "WA KAOz". Miss D neber mention anything about this with me b4 so thus there is no way she will know what i think , how can she put words in my mouth ??? BUT then maybe this just came from Miss P ( of Stud. Aff.) Whatever it is ... am going to tell my chef about it. I am a trainee and a cheap one too ... BUT still PLS show me some respect.

Bad day today .... LOST MY WATCH !!! my only WHITE watch and best still , I lost it @ my work place and there is only so many ppl @ my work place .... That's not only my only white watch but also my bday pressie from B'day'06 and of cos my fav one too !!!! Was very sad the whole day this makes me kinda of hate the work place even more ( on top of that incident on top) but of cos i will "REN" aka Endure till the last day of my attachment!!!

3rd day of 2008 !!!

Boxing day lunch @ workplace

Been yet another long time since I blog , dunno anyone read or not anyway :P But it had been quite busy ( ok ok I am LAZY ) 2007 is long gone and AWAY ... now is the start of a brand new year ... Gonna be a busy one this year. Cos other then my studies , work, I am going to continue my japanese language class... sure head big big one cos been about 6 mths since I last touch any of it ( well my head was same big big also when i took it last year , ha ha ) Well i guess 2008 had been fine so far ( 3 days only ). Will try to update more .... I guess one good thing is that the lesser I blog here ,,,, kinda of means my life is not so sucky ... ha ha !!!

Oh btw ..... ppl been asking me how is it like to be 30 !!! , and my reply to them is always " If you don't go and think about it .... there is actually no difference , life still goes on ( not like 20 turns 21 then can watch RA kinda of things ... BUT if you think about it .... YOU WISH YOU NEBER THINK ABOUT IT !!!!! ha ha ha , that's my most truthful answer and advice !!!

Before I log off .... think I would like to set the following for year 2008 -
1) Try to pass my baking course with the best grade I can
2) Pass my Japanese class ( can pass can liao , dun dare ask too much
3) Find a good job after my course ( but think it should fall in year 2009 resolutions
4) Have a HAPPY FAMILY ( Father, Mother, I LOVE YOU )
5) Maintain contacts with my current frenz and maybe hope to know more ppl in this line I am going into
6) Build up the bonds I had with my current classmates
7) Be more health conscious
8) Win 4D so I can change my "wife"
9) Dun be so LAZY
10) erm.... More to come ..... will add on the list :P

Emo @ 3am

Been sick the whole week ... starting with cough + sore throat + flu + fever ... till now with still cough + flu + bit fever ( cold sweat) + of no reason ... a swollen eye. Now was about 3 am in the morning ( can't sleep due to cough), decided to blog down some thots. Soon I be turning 30 .... a figure use to seems so far away but now was sooooo close. Still remember when I was 18 yo , I used to think that it will be enuff to just live till 30 yo cos it seems so far back then ( based on my plam , my life line is a bit shorter then many). Would always think that by 30, I would have done alot and maybe did all I wanted to do. But now ... few more days and i be blowing my 30th candle, it just seems sooo fast and there still alot out there to be done. First of all , I just embarked on a new career change, by hoping to turn my passion into career - Baking. I had just enrolled into at-Sunrice for a Dip in Baking and Pastry Arts and just only finished my first term ... 1 more yr to go. So 30s seems to be the start of my life.But it just seems so wrong now .... 6 mths ago was already planning , I am going to have a BIG BIG Party for my 30th Birthday cos this is where a man's life start but now nothing gonna happen .... cos 1) I am still super sick , 2) I am working tomorrow still and on my bday I might still be working , got no clearance yet from my chef @ work. It all seems so wrong at the same time :(
Can't really sleep just now , so was thinking of what will happen if i am gone the next day ? I dun even have a will drawn ( ha ha i am not rich to have one anyway ) But anyway still decided to pen down something here ha ha *touch wood*

My house of cos will be to my parents , if possible my mum only

My cousin of cos will still be able to stay here as long as he likes but monthly rent transfer to my mum instead ( also if he decided to get married , he will have to move .... if not later mum will have to be maid to anothe.

My saving ( i got only -ve value ) + my CPF ( only that little) ALL will b to my mum of cos

My bike to be scrape ( dun wan other ppl to ride it - YES i am selfish )

All my toys going down with me ( Sorry to my nephew n nieces who been bio-ing them)

My Mac - to my cousin whom i still owe my study loan

All my adidas shoe + apparels - to my 2 brothers who been bio-ing them for a long time

Think that's all i have , sooooo pathetic rite ? wat to do i dun earn that much ( but i spent as much)
Btw : pls send out an sms to all my dear frenz on my phone telling them I be gone ... but pls do miss me if I had been a good fren :) ( though not everyone on my HP is my best frenz.

Ubin Camping Trip

Our "Deformed" Tent

It had been a long time since I upload any post but here is something long and interesting ☺. Well went to ubin with 3 of my classmates (that’s 1/3 of the whole class strength), which was very lucky cos Lynn is able to make it cos the nite before she actually smsed to say she might not make it due to food poisoning. Anyway we met up early @ Tanah Merah MRT (just been voted as WORST toilet of Singapore MRT) and took a bus to Changi Village. (Side note …. I had asked the group to bring a big bag … travel light … so we can buy water and put inside …. But one of them YJ ….really travel LIGHT….. In fact it should be consider super light !!!!! ha ha ha , a small bag … with hmm just some clothes and a loaf of focaccia bread) There was a huge change in that area esp. with the new Jetty and saw they had a boardwalk built in that area on the map (ok ok I know maybe it been there for some time but I neber been to that area for the Lonnnnnnnnnnnnngest time. Anyway the jetty was nice and there even waiting area for passengers waiting on board the bumboat to Pulau Ubin. Oh I forget to mention that the weather was great … gloomy but no rain.

The trip on the bumboat took abt 10 min +/- and very soon we reach the island itself (oh did I mention that it’s YJ’s virgin trip to Ubin) Once touch down, we went to the police post and gave our particulars (this is a recommended for all campers so that the police can inform in case of anything happen. Next we went to rent our bicycles and only to realized that YJ haben been cycling for long time …. And was abit unstable at first …. (Was very proud of her … neber give up and try n try) We left her to practices and me and JS went to recce the Jelutong beach but was quite disappointed by it (thot it will look nicer though) then we went back and realized YJ is done with her practices and we set out for Noordin Beach Campsite. Cos we decided to pitch out tent and then unload some stuff before going to Chew Jawa (coos just the 4 of us but we had a heavy load of food (including 2 cans of curry chicken, 1 can of sausages, 1 can of potato soup, 1 can of tuna, 5 pack of Maggie mee, 1 ice box with 6 can of tiger beer by me, 1 can of curry chicken, 1 can of shark fin soup, 1 can of luncheon meat, 4 pack of Maggie mee, some tibits and his must have 3 in 1 kopi by JS, Lynn had with her tibits and chips and YJ have tibits, cookies and bread.

We spent close to 2 hrs on my 2pid tent (which I throw away after this trip), the wind was very strong and we had a hard time setting up the tent in that kind of condition. On and thanks to “Handyman” JS cos he had a lot of “tools” to make the tent stable, without which the tent would not be stable. Ohh forget to mention again, Noordin Beach was much nicer we were the only campers over that that day and there was this dog there, we gave him the name of Bobby (by JS).

After that we decided to go and explore the “new” Chek Jawa, it had been years since I been there and they have new boardwalk and stuff over there. We decided to take a shortcut based on the map BUT we end up losing our way (took one big round and end up at the same place not to mention that we kena mud along the way, esp Lynn and YJ cos they wear slippers!!! haha got their slippers STUCK in the mud) thus after wasting the time on the wrong road, we “start” to make our way to Chek Jawa …. By the time we reach there was about close to 5pm, We took a look at the House No. 1 which they did a good job on the renovation. And Lynn had claimed that is her house, ha ha. After that we took a walk on the boardwalk which is very windy and nice.It was high tide thus we can’t see any of the nice coral and marine life but we manage to see a few school of small fishes. Oh we took some funny pics as well.

Next was the viewing tower … Lynn did not wans to climb it in the first place but was persuaded by JS, which was good cos she did not regret going up … the air is good, view is good and of cos …. Lynn claimed this as her tower again! Next we set off back to the Ubin town. Half way along the way, JS’s bike’s paddle drop so he had to push like skate scooter. We had a “light” din din (with black pepper crab, steam prawns, vege, soup and squids – very “light” indeed) It was close to 7pm + after din din and some grocery and the sky was getting quite dark. So I had my first experience of riding in the dark on Ubin, it was kinda of fun for us yet we were having a bit of mix feeling … cos not sure will our tent stays strong against the strong wind, or will our food be stolen? Lucky for us, all was intact and we set off to shower after unloading (surprising the toilets there is nice n clean so much better then the Tanah Merah MRT’s). Though of cos water is not safe for drinking even bathing but we used it to bath anyway (I wash over with mineral water after that but JS just powder bath after that and the gals commented that we smell nicer then them LOL , welcome to the world of Metrosexual) .

Next we had small talk, some drinks, tibits at the shelter and at ard 11 + we started to cook our supper of all the Maggie + canned food. Chef for the nite was “Chef” JS, not only he cooked for us, he cooked for Bobby as well and some other dogs ☺. After supper, we tok cok, sing song some more till about close to 3 am.I must have been a bit high due to the few cans of Tiger beer ... cos think i talk alot LOL ( sorry for that guys ... too long neber drink and i am not really a alcohol person. There is where we were all tired and decided to go back into the tent and grab some sleep. Think JS was super tired, cos he fall asleep almost str8 away. I had quite a bad nite … cos I think I am too used to soft mattress .. so kept tossing n turning. Time goes quite slow as I keep checking my watch. @ about 3.40am, we heard the dogs outside barking and I just lay still n try to sleep, dun wan to think what is it but YJ sits up and look out, only to see the dog barking then went back to sleep (think she was a bit afraid cos she thot she heard noise nearby) I heard like sound of car and also like got someone open a can of soft drink. We concluded in the morning that it might had been maybe a wild boar that came around that nite (cos Lynn and JS heard and saw something along our way back, near the NPCC camp) and the dogs were barking and not howling…. So maybe they were trying to protect us? ☺

HornBills@ Noordin Beach

YJ woke up ard 7am and we went to clean up a bit and decided to wake the rest up but Lynn and JS continued to sleep so both of us decided to continue sleeping …. Soon it started to rain ,,,,, but only for about 30 min … then we decided to cook breakfast. 3 of us went out and left JS was inside sleeping cos can see that he was really tired. Me and Lynn was chef for the morning … soon it started to rain again … and ard 10 we decided to wake JS up cos we need to return the bike b4 12pm if not there be additional charges. We were getting ready to leave when it started to rain again so we hid inside the tent and after a while we tore down the tent and hide at the shelter. It keeps on raining and raining. We decided to set out in the rain at ard close to 1 pm and soon the rain got heavier when we reached the Jetty (lucky the uncle did not charge us extra cos we returned the bike late, btw the uncle was quite helpful, we had free lock, free baskets for the bikes and best did not charge us extra, it the last bicycle stall at the left hand side).

Maybe due to the rain and cos weekdays, we had to wait for close to half an hour to get enough ppl to get the bumboat to leave the Jetty (standard they will only leave when got about 12 pax, unless u wans to pay extra). We had our lunch @ Changi Village , only to realize that my fav. western food stall is no longer there and thew red tea longan's standard dropped!. After that me and JS shared a cab back and YJ n Lynn took bus back.The whole trip was very enjoyable for me and of cos the rest of the guys enjoyed it too and we hope to do this again. Till then …. Hope to have more fun with this bunch !!!
