FHA Dinner @ at-Sunrice by Classic Fine Foods & Rougié

Yesterday was a busy day ... Went to FHA2008 again in the morning to get some stuffs then had to rush back to skool b4 2 pm as there is going to be an event which was to start from 7pm to 11pm. We were all very busy setting up the desserts for the nite , and we only managed to complete all ard 6pm+ thus all just had a very rush dinner of Fried Rice ( only 15 min to eat n go toilet ). B4 7pm we were all @ our station waiting for the guests. On forget to mentioned , I was post to the Churros Station with my Daughter - 0 dan. And Yj and GGG was on the other end , serving the same thing. Was surprised that alot of guest does not know what is a Churros ..... Luckily Chef Jimmy "REFRESHED" my memory b4 the event on the origin of it. Our stn was quite busy , "business" was super good ... All my churros was almost snapped once we display it and my Chef thot we did not do enuff LOL and Chef Fred actually say will award me Dip in churros LOL .... It was quite fun toking to the guests and also intro Churros to them ... I would always go like .. " Evening Sir/Mdm , any Churros for you ? and if they ask " What's that" , I will replied " This is Churros. Sir/Mdm , It is actually Choux Pastry , like Cream Puffs , just that this is DEEP FRIED and not baked." Then is will also tell them " There is also Chocolate sauce and Raspberry sauce here" and if they ask " So which is better ? " I will replied " Try one plain ( just with the lime sugar tossed ) , one with chocolate sauce and the last with raspberry, that's why we served 3 in a plate." Standard questions and answers the whole nite :P Also there were alot of guests who came took a look and said they will come back later ( cos they haben had enuff of savoury items ) BUT they always come back for our Churros and back for MORE .. LOL ... And i very the "JIAN" cos some students and staffs who came by and ask to try i would always tell them ... pls only come to my station COS the other station very the "CAT" , their Churros very short ... mine better .... LONGERRRRRRR ... BETTERRRRRR LOL ha ha ha ..... SUPER " JIAN" .... But was very tiring ... staying there whole nite ... piping and frying .... and worst kena scolded by Chef Dean for drinking @ my station ... of cos i know it's wrong to drink in front of guest BUT there is no one to relieve me .... the other counter got 4 pax ... my side most of the time only 2 of us ... how to go other place hide n drink ... Duhz !!!

But was quite happy cos alot of the guest really like the Churros cos they keep coming back for MORE !!! and also there is this chef Paul Lenz of shangri la Singapore came to joke with us and also gave me his name card and saying that we should go work for him( when he asked us where we worked) LOL ( cos he say he like the way we enjoy while work cos we were like smiling all the way ) Well this might means nothing or maybe he's a bit drunk or just being friendly but to me ... a chef of his status , toking n joking with us .... i think this is more then enough for us ... We are just Trainees aka Cheap Labours ( or rather FREE labours for the nite ) That is one of the many things that make me enjoy the nite ( of cos making desserts , tasting them and all ... It was a good experience ..... though every1 was Busy , Tired .. but working as a TEAM was GREAT !!! liked that feeling .... It also help me to tok to more ppl from the other class ( becos of under-the-table butler trade. LOL .... Hope this Sat event @ Sentosa will be great as well and no hiccups !!! *Finger Crossed*
